EXHITEMP
Development of extremely high-temperature-resistant flow probes manufactured by AM
Context:
The goal of the Extremely High Temperature Probes “ExHiTemP” feasibility study is the manufacturing and testing of aerodynamic flow probes, which can withstand flow temperatures of up to 1500°C. The experiment has a run time maximum of 6 months.
The challenge:
- Measure flow in combustion chambers.
- Find printable materials with high melting points >1500°C.
- Sufficient residual strength >1500°C.
- Apply cooling in flow probes.
