Use AM to optimize design, reduce weight, improve performance and select the most adequate materials and AM technologies for hybrid production of parts
Context:
The product Idea covers New Additive Manufacturable Components for hydraulic hand tools to be incorporated in the latest generation of innovative self-managed electronic-hydraulic tools developed by ALKAR. This project has been development already at a first step, NAMAC I (OC2). In NAMAC I, ALKAR has already innovated by additively designing and manufacturing two components fortwo of its hydraulic tool models by SLM technology.
The challenge:
- Reduce weight and improve performance.
- Provide one model with electrical insulation.
- Ensure that the design is global, light, functional, aesthetic and that all components are also designed to be recycled or reused.
